Ramona Mae Wessler, age 83, of St. Peters, Missouri passed Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St Joseph Hospital, St. Charles, Missouri.
Ramona was born October 8, 1933 in Hebron, Nebraska to Henry John and Laura Remona (Holtzen) Wessler. After graduating from Lamar High School in 1951, she pursued her education in nursing and earned her PhD. She taught at Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri and taught in the Oncology Department at St. Louis University before retiring in 1997. Ramona enjoyed quilting and jewelry making as well as her love for her church where she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Missouri. She had a remarkable sense of humor and was very family oriented.
Ramona leaves behind one brother, Lee (Betty) Wessler, Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, LaVeda Wilson, Lamar, Missouri and Bonnie Wessler, St. Peters, Missouri; nephews Donald (Joann) Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, Edwin (Melinda) Wessler, Chris Wessler, Michael (Laura) Slamp, Al Slamp; nieces Jeannette (Dana) Eaves and Carrie Thomas; great nephews and nieces, Rachael Thomas, Hannah Eaves, Alison Slamp, Elizabeth Wessler, Krista Wessler, Samuel Wilson, Gracie Wessler, Michael (Krystal) Slamp, and Matthew Slamp; great-great nephew and niece, Nathan Slamp and Alexis Slamp She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Wilbur, Charles and Merlyn Wessler; and a nephew, Ron Wilson.
A private family service will be held at Daniel Funeral Home with burial in Lake Cemetery.
