Corey Lee Box, age 30, of Stuttgart, Ark., passed away on January 30, 2017 in Little Rock, Ark. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Corey was born on November 27, 1986 in Joplin, son of Stephen R. Box and Kimberly K. Williams Evans. He graduated from Seneca High School, where he played football and received more than 50 medals in track and field. He went on to play football at Pittsburg State University. He moved from Joplin seven years ago, to Stuttgart, Ark. He worked for TruGreen. He married Heather Howe on April 15, 2012 in Dardanelle, Ark. on Mount Nebo. Corey was fully devoted to his wife and daughter, and shared his passions with both of them. He had a great love for the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Whether he was fishing in tournaments, idling down the river in his boat or driving the four-wheeler out to his tree stand, he was living life to its fullest.
Corey is survived by his wife Heather Box, Stuttgart, Ark.; a daughter, Ayla Box, of the home; his father Stephen R. Box, Pierce City, Mo.; his mother Kimberly K. Evans, Joplin; two brothers, Jeremiah Box, Joplin, and Mackinley Evans, Joplin; three sisters, Katie Spitz, Newton, Kan., Natalie Box, Pierce City, Mo. and Hailey Kuyper, Indianola, Iowa.; paternal grandparents David and Connie Box, Joplin; maternal grandmother Verna Williams, Joplin; and great grandmother Elizabeth Buffy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stevie Ray Box. Along with his immediate family, Corey had many cousins, aunts and uncles he loved dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 6 at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Charlie Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Heather Box is in ICU due to injuries from the automobile accident and will be unable to attend the celebration of life. Please keep her in your prayers.
