Bobby Mears

Mr. Bobby Leon Mears, 77, of Pineville, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday morning, February 5, 2017, at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after months of declining health.

Bobby entered this life on May 5, 1939, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, son of the late Irvin and Roxie (Collins) Mears. He was raised and attended high school in Muskogee, Oklahoma. On September 13, 1957, he was united in marriage to Carol King and to this union four children were born. Bobby was a welder and pipe fitter throughout his life and was a member of the Pipe Fitters Local Union #533 in Kansas City, Missouri. Bobby was a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ and a National Guard Veteran. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and visiting with his friends at the coffee shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of forty-six years, Carol Mears on January 12, 2004.

Bobby is survived by his four children, Bret Mears and wife, Terri, of Wichita, Kansas, Mark Mears of Rogers, Arkansas, Christi Cooper and Steve Golden of Joplin, Missouri and Buck Mears and wife, Lisa, of Foley, Alabama; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Mears are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Tommie Burr officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Dustin Frazer, Steve Golden, Dan Krohn, Keith Patterson, Paul Rowse and Stephen Smith. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to the Fair Haven Children’s Home and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
