Rev. Russell K. Hunt, Neosho, Missouri, passed away at his home in Neosho on February 9, 2017, following a brief illness at the age of 92.
Rev. Hunt was born Nov. 1, 1924 in Harrison, Arkansas, the son of Charles G. and Lena (Borland) Hunt. He served in the Army-Air Forces, 1943-1946. He was a Southern Baptist Minister and served many congregations and was a member of the Neosho First Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family, fishing, gardening and camping.
Russell and Florence (Crain) were united in marriage on Dec. 31, 1943 in Biloxi, Mississippi and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2008. He is survived by five children, Kyle Hunt and wife, Carol of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Clodis Hunt and wife, Kathy of Bonner Springs, KS; Gary Hunt and wife, Patty of Edwardsville, Kansas; Glenda Eppard and husband, Clyde of Neosho and Janice Witten and husband, Vic of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Richard Hunt of Harrison, Arkansas; one sister, Betty Lemoyne Moore of Harrison, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Lou Witten.
Visitation services will be held on Friday at the Clark Funeral Home from 5 to 6 pm and funeral services for Rev. Hunt will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2107 at 1:30 pm at the Grubb Springs Baptist Church, near Harrison, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from12:30 until service time. Interment and military honors will follow in the Grubb Springs Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Rev.
