Joseph M. Phillips, age 53 of Carthage, Missouri passed away Wednesday February 15, 2017 following a sudden illness.
He was born January 31, 1964 in Joplin, Missouri to Charles and Pansy (Lett) Phillips.
Joseph worked as a mechanic in the automotive repair field. He enjoyed NASCAR, country and western movies and music, as well as scary movies. He loved fishing and loved people. He had a super energized heart.
He married Marianne Mayhue on March 4, 2013 and she survives. He is also survived by five children, Joseph Phillips-Daugherty, Miami, Oklahoma, Jeffrey Phillips and fiancée Gabrielle Gabelt, Miami, Oklahoma, Jake Johnson, Webb City, Missouri, Matthew Phillips and fiancée Destinea, Terre Haute, Indiana, and Bailey Phillips, Coffeyville, Kansas; four grandchildren, Westley, Jacey, Michael, and Broaden.
The family will conduct a memorial service 1:00 pm Sunday February 19, 2017 at the Church of God 7th Day 401 E. Elk Joplin, Missouri.
