Kenneth William "Ken" Nash, age 84, Joplin, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at The Communities of Wildwood after a lengthy illness.
Ken was born January 13, 1933 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, son of the late Hersel Nash and Mildred Jennings Nash, he graduated from high school in Decatur, Illinois, and then attended the University of Indiana. He worked for Central Soya in Decatur, and then got transferred to Memphis, Tennessee. He moved to Joplin in 1973 and began working for Doane Products which he did until retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed sailing, golfing, fishing, and was recipient of many awards for his talent with flying model airplanes. He was a member of the Grand Lake Sailing Club, and sailed with his wife around the Caribbean. He was also an active member of South Joplin Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Arlene; daughter, Julia L. Foster and husband Kenton of Loma Linda, Missouri; grandchildren, Kenton A. Foster and wife Sara of Nashville, Tennessee, Kate Hogue and husband Sean of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Memorial services will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at South Joplin Christian Church with Dr. Colleen Carroll officiating. Inurnment of his ashes will be private in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
