Joyce J. Jones was born on July 27th, 1926 in Newton County, the beloved daughter of Roy O. Jones and Margaret Wilson Jones. She entered into rest on February 26, 2017 in Carthage, Missouri at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 30 days.
Joyce was an independent and accomplished woman. She attended the Midway school, and then medical college in Houston, Texas. She worked as a medical technician in Baxter Springs, Kansas and Lockwood, Missouri.
After retiring from the medical profession, Joyce returned to her homeland to help her mother and renew her first love of raising horses. An avid equestrian, she especially liked American Saddlebred horses. She shared that joy with her friends Larry and Loretta McBride.
Joyce is survived by one half-sister, one half-brother, several cousins and nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday March 3, 2017 at Newtonia Cemetery in Newtonia, Missouri, Visitation will be held prior to service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday March 3, 2017 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
