Doris ‘June’ Carney of rural Granby, Missouri was born September 24, 1941 to Marjorie (Carnes) Jones and Earl Jones. She went to heaven on February 8, 2017 at the age of 75 years.
June was united in marriage to Carol Junior Carney on December 10, 1965 and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Anthony Rand Howell, and three sisters, Stirlene (Jones) Howell, Earlene (Jones) Shaw and Patsy (Jones) Howell. She is survived by one sister, Sharon (Jones) Myers and husband, C.J. of Jasper, MO and one brother, Denny Jones and wife, Martha of Carthage, MO. June is also survived by her children, Cheri Johnson and husband, Kevin of Granby, George Carney of Granby, Brian Carney and wife, A.J. of Granby, Kenneth Carney and wife, Katrina of Jasper, Angela Anderson and husband, Thomas of Stark City and Liana Griner and husband, Ricky of Anderson; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; her best friend, Betty Kirk, and many who loved her and was loved by her.
June’s home was always welcoming, she would always invite you to relax, eat and enjoy yourself. She was an excellent cook, avid gardener, loved to fish and play games. She was basically a mother hen to anyone who came around. June had the most joy when she was with family and friends, the larger the group, the happier she was. She was a very strong woman as she worked for over twenty years for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association while taking care of her home, family and garden.
