Claudean Oaks, 97, of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Circle Of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas.
She was born on July 24, 1919 in Powell, Missouri to the late Silas and Lucretia Ann (Packwood) Clark. She grew up in rural Pineville on a farm and attended school in Pineville. Claudean married Clyde Oaks on November 23, 1940 in Southwest City, Missouri. They lived 20 years in Las Vegas, Nevada where she was a nurse at the Southern Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1975. Following retirement they moved to Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, where they resided in the summer and Laferia, Texas in the winter until Clyde's health declined. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas; she was a member and served as treasurer for the Friendly Neighbor Club. Claudean enjoyed bible study, fishing, rock hunting, gardening and bird watching.
Claudean is survived by her sister, Jessie Dunn of Seattle, Washington; her favorite nephew, Dale Clark of Anderson, Missouri; niece, Sandy Curry of Joplin, Missouri; sister-in-laws, Mary Oaks of Rogers, Arkansas and Nellie Clark of Missouri; along with a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Claudean.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Oaks of 64 years; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services for Claudean Oaks will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. Pastor Dale Richardson will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Butler Creek cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas.
