Michael Kerr

Michael Joe Kerr, 56, of Sarcoxie, Missouri departed this life on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Michael entered this life on December 30, 1960 to the late Frank and Lavada (Shipp) Kerr in Sacramento, California. His early childhood he lived in California, later moving to Galena, Missouri. He also resided in Springdale, Arkansas and in 1995 he moved to Sarcoxie, Missouri. On June 4, 1990, in Fayetteville, Arkansas he was united in marriage to Carla Parmley. Michael was the owner of Rid-A-Mole, a Wildlife Control Operator and operated his business for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sarcoxie, Missouri. He enjoyed classic cars, Geocaching, “70’s” music and movies, spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Michael was a hard worker and loved his job.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings; Frank Kerr and Retha Drinkwater.

Michael is survived by his wife Carla of the home; one daughter, Ashley Dumire and husband Lee, of Emporia, Kansas; two sons, Michael Kerr and wife Cindy of Galena, Missouri and Brian Kerr of Crane, Missouri; his grandchildren, Aleah, Makayla, Destiny, and Julia; his mother in law, Belva Lou Parmley of Sarcoxie, Missouri; his siblings, Linda Kelley and husband Steve of Roseville, California, Mark Kerr and wife Pat of Oneida, New York, Jeff Kerr and wife Kay of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Laura Lantz and husband Dan of Springdale, Arkansas; sister- in- law, Sharon Kerr of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three brothers- in- law, Eugene Parmley, Ronald Parmley and wife Jill, all of Sarcoxie, Missouri and John Drinkwater of Citrus Heights, California; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February, 25th, 2017 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri with Pastor Scott Pogue officiating. Interment will follow at the Sarcoxie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Kevin Guinn, J.T. Roberson, Jason Chandler, Randy Huff, Ed Brown and Terry Barlow. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cornell-Beshore Cancer Center, Freeman Foundation and may be left at the funeral home.
