Carol B. Myrick, age 91 of Neosho, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 at Medicalodge in Neosho, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 23, 1926 on a farm near Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Hubert W. and Lotus R. (Hall) McCreery.
She married Roy E. Myrick in Chicago, ILL in 1946. The moved to Denver, CO in 1947 and Carol began her career in 1950 with the Defense Department at Lowry Air Force Training Center in Aurora, CO, where she was forms manager. During her career, she received many achievement awards for outstanding ideas and work ethics. She retired in 1984 and joined her husband of 52 years in business and he preceded her in death in 1998. Carol moved to Neosho in 2004 from Littleton, CO.
She is survived by her two sisters, Mildred A. Hooker of Asheville, NC and Virginia Garrison of Neosho; sister in law, Connie McCreery of North Platte, NE and brother in law, Jack Smith of Pensacola, FL and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, who always called her Aunty Carol. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Mary Alyce and Dorothy; three brothers, Hall, Wayne and Phil and one niece, Amy.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 2 pm at the Neosho IOOF Cemetery, Dr. Jerry Seigel will officiate. Open visitation hours will be on Thursday from 9 am until 5 pm and Friday from 9 am until 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Medicalodge Activities Department or Avalon Hospice, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and employees of Medicalodge for their kindness through the many years of care.
