Lorena Hazlett

Lorena Blanche Hazlett, age 90, of Webb City, Missouri passed away January 2, 2021, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Lorena was born January 18, 1930 in Muncie, Indiana to the union of the late William Harold and Laura Marie (Jones)Evans. 

She is lovingly survived by three daughters, Susan McConnell and husband Edde, of Carl Junction, Missouri, Janice Perry Watkins and husband, David of Webb City, Missouri, and Karen Brown of Lake Elsinore, California; grandchildren, Kent, Darlene, Heather, Michelle; great grandchildren; Julie Anne, Matthew, Elijah, Skyler, Ella, Neva; as well as a host of extended family and friends. 








Her two sisters Florence Hendrix and Jean Whitesell and a granddaughter Angela (McConnell) Littlefield preceded her in death.

Lorena had lived in the Webb City area most of her life. She was a devout Christian, a Sunday School teacher and helped with Vacation Bible School for several years. She worked in retail as a shoe store manager spending several years working at Steve’s Shoes and JR Bales of Joplin, Missouri before retiring.

Lorena enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She always got up early to cook for her family, especially pancakes for the girls. Lorena loved her family, making happy memories with them. When problems would arise, she would always be cheerful, trusting God, pointing out the good side of things. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at Parker Mortuary with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
