(From Knell Mortuary)Jeanie May Allan, 89, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Tuesday evening, November 2, 2021, at Oak Pointe of Carthage. Jeanie was born September 11, 1932, in Jasper County, Missouri, the daughter of Roy Arthur Stafford and Fannie (Long) Stafford. She was a 1950 graduate of Diamond High School, Diamond, Missouri.
Jeanie married the love of her life, Elmer Leroy Allan, on January 30, 1951; he preceded her in death on June 21, 1998.
She was employed with Fred’s Frozen Foods, working in production and spice blending. Jeanie was a member of the First Christian Church, Carthage. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, word games, and her Hosta collection, but her greatest love was being involved with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her proudest titles were “Mom” and “Grammy”.
Survivors include four sons, Douglas Allan (Barbara), Shelbyville, Kentucky, Timothy Allan (Sherry), Carthage, Missouri, Steven Allan (Robert), Seattle, Washington, and Christopher “Skeeter” Allan (Melissa), Carthage, Missouri; two brothers, Roy Stafford, Jr. (Minnie), Carthage, Missouri, and Donald Stafford (Helen), Peculiar, Missouri; grandchildren, Ryan Allan (Amy), Lyndsay Magar (Jason), Aaron Allan (Jessica), Alex Allan (Brecklyn), Joseph Allan, Kent Parker (Rachael), and Karie Mullins (Robert); and great-grandchildren, Perry Allan, Abby Allan, Tess Magar, Max Magar, Coco Magar, Nolee Allan, Ryder Allan, Parker Mullins, Jackson Mullins, Jayden Mullins, Landon Parker, and Kenzie Parker.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Stafford and Martin Stafford; and a sister, Linda Strain.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Burial will follow at Diamond Cemetery, Diamond, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until service time. Memorial gifts are suggested to American Heart Association in care of Knell Mortuary.
