(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Frank Verne Hollenbeck, age 78, passed away at 7:11 am, Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri following an illness.
Verne was born June 27, 1943 in Gunnison, CO. His parents were Frank and Dorothy Anne (Dewitt) Hollenbeck.
He was raised n Gunnison and moved as a young man to California, where he lived for 35 years. He then moved to Purcell 10 years ago. He worked as a mechanic specializing in small engine repair. He enjoyed motorcycles, reading, shooting his guns and pistols, and cruising in his 1940 Ford Coup. He was a history buff.
Verne was married to Peggy J Baker on May 7, 2971 in Durango, CO. She survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Stacia Willoughby (Brian) Carthage, MO; and one granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Willoughby.
He was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation. The family will inter his cremains at Friends Cemetery, Purcell, MO at a later date.
