George Wagahoff

George Owen Wagahoff, age 95 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021.

George was born September 30, 1926 in Golden City, Missouri, to the late Anthony Joseph and Erma (Murphy) Wagahoff. After high school, George proudly served his county in the United States Navy, serving in World War II.

On December 24, 1947 George was united in marriage to Irma Dorine Hayes. Together they shared 65 precious years, before her passing on June 3, 2013.






 

George worked many years in quality control before retiring. During his career he worked at Vicker’s, Rocketdyne and FAG Bearings. George was a member of the Diamond American Legion and a longtime member of Blendville Christian Church. Together he and Irma enjoyed flea markets and antique stores where they would reminisce about the vintage items they found. They also loved the bus tours they would take them across the country. Family was everything to George and he cherished the time spent and memories created with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

George is lovingly survived by his son, Duke Wagahoff and wife, Dee; daughter, Barbara Kraxberger and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Heidi Miller and husband, Dean, Brennan Kraxberger and wife, Becky, Cory Wagahoff, Kristin Harper and husband, Aaron, Lori Jones and husband, Jake, Ryan Hamilton; great grandchildren, Emily Dorsett and husband, Kevin, Reagan Jones, Riley Jones, Ella Jones, Seth Wagahoff, Drew Wagahoff, Kassadee Hamilton, Connor Hamilton, Ethan Harper, Ansley Harper, Hudson Kraxberger, Nolan Kraxberger; together with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Hank Deslatte officiating. Cory Wagahoff, Jake Jones, Brennan Kraxberger, Ryan Hamilton, Steve Aggus and Jim DeGruson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Parker Mortuary Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children’s Center of Southwest Missouri, 1029 E. 7th Street, Joplin, or www.childrens-center.org.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
