(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Jolene Ann Burton, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility at the age of 71.
She was born on January 2, 1950 in rural Mt. View, MO to William Alvin and Arline (Lichtey) Swearingen. As a child of an Army Service Member, she enjoyed time overseas in her youth in Germany.
Jolene graduated from Verona High School. She worked as Social Worker for the state of Missouri. Jolene was united in marriage to Billie Joe Burton on July 8, 1971 in Verona, MO. She was a member of the Lockwood First Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #372 Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Arline Swearingen; her husband, Billie Joe Burton; her daughter, Samantha Harr; her sister, Barbara Swearingen; and her step-son, Kevin Burton.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Burton and Michelle, and Thomas Burton and wife Tammy; one step-daughter, Brenda Gaines; three brothers, William “Bill” Swearingen and wife Barbara, Charles Swearingen and wife Dana, and Lester Swearingen and wife Vickie; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, in Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Collins Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral chapel. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
