Wayne Sherman

Mr. Harold Wayne Sherman, II, 64, of Noel, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Wayne entered this life on April 10, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas, born to the union of Harold Wayne and Lavilla (Eberley) Sherman. He moved with his family to Noel, Missouri, in 1964 and was a 1975 graduate of McDonald County High School. He furthered his education by attending Crowder College. 








Wayne was employed by Simmons Foods for over thirty-five years, retiring in 2020 as supervisor of the refrigeration department. He enjoyed working on his dozer, motorcycles, woodworking, hunting, fishing, traveling and was an avid Jayhawks fan. Wayne was a member of First Baptist Church in Lanagan.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Sherman; maternal grandparents, Phillip and Ruth Eberley; and his paternal grandparents, Goldie Creamer and Herbert Sherman.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Viola Sherman of the home; four children, Tracy Mejia of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jeremy Sherman of Anderson, Donny Battiest and wife, Tabitha, of Springtown, Arkansas and Tommy Battiest and wife, Lacy, of Colcord, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his parents, Wayne and Lavilla Sherman of Noel; a sister, Kimberly Manley and husband, Travis, of Noel; three brothers, Mark Sherman and wife, Terri, of Noel, Michael Sherman of Anderson and Bryon Sherman and wife, Sharon, of Noel; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Larry Hendren officiating. Burial will follow at Brush Creek Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Sherman, Erick Mejia, Rob Sherman, Bryon Sherman, II, Kevin Sherman and Kyle Sherman.
