Lucille Porter

Lucille Carolyn Porter was born February 25, 1935 in Burntmill, Colorado, the daughter of Roy and Hazel (LaNear) Fern. She entered into rest with family at her side on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 86. 

Lucille graduated from Pueblo Colorado High School in 1953 and moved to Neosho in 1977 from Colorado. She worked in food service, having worked for Smith Foods and the Newton County Jail. 

She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, playing bingo, and attending and traveling with the Neosho Area Widow to Widow group. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. 

Lucille married Robert Porter on May 4, 1956 at the Methodist Church in Beulah, Colorado and he preceded her in death in March of 1989. 

She is survived by four children, Robert Glen, Jr. (Barbara) Porter of Seneca, Missouri, Carolyn Louise Porter of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Richard Vernon (Laura) Porter of Neosho, Missouri and Daniel Lee (Charlotte) Porter of Wagner, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jason Porter, Brian Porter, Brad Porter, Joshua Porter, Brandon Porter, Megan Housley, David Jones, Nathaniel Porter and Brittany Porter and several great grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two grandsons, Wesley Porter and Jeremiah Porter and two brothers, James Fern and David Fern.
