Bert R. Potts age 92 of Carl Junction, Missouri passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
He was born on August 2, 1921 in Pindall, Arkansas to Frank Potts and Bertha Daniel Potts. Bert was at the CC Camp in Minnesota until 1942 when he entered the Army. He was in the Army from 1942 to 1945 in the 413th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment. Bert was in the Normandy Invasion, June 1944 and the Battle of the Bulge December 1944. He was wounded and received the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Bert retired from Vickers as a machinist.
He married Willie Robertson and she preceded him in death in 1988. Bert is survived by two daughters, Judy Johnson and husband Bob, Joan Uto; a son, Eddie Potts and wife Brenda; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Reverend Rex Robertson officiating. A visitation will be on Monday from 12:00 PM until service time. Burial with military rites will follow at Carl Junction Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Mercy Hospice in his memory.
