Melvin Ray Hembree, 77, went to his final resting place on March 5, 2014 at Freeman Neosho Hospital.
He had been a resident the last 3 years at Seneca Home Place in Seneca. Melvin was born May 16, 1936 in Sarcoxie, MO. and had lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for a few years, returning to Racine. He attended Westview School and worked at Frank Scott Dodge for over 30 years, detailing automobiles and when that dealership closed, he worked at Reeves Tire. Melvin loved detailing automobiles.
Melvin is survived by two brothers, Edward Hembree, Mt. Vernon and Wesley Hembree, Neosho; five sisters in laws, Elenora, Linda, Linda, Mary and Jenny all survive. Although Melvin never married, he has a long list of nieces, nephews and cousins that survive and many friends. He loved his family. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Maggie (Shields) Hembree; brothers, Cecil Hembree, Jr., Billy Hembree, Frank Hembree, Walter Hembree, Bobby Hembree and recently, his oldest brother, Paul Hembree and sisters, Freda Evans and Ann Hembree.
Viewing will be Thursday, March 6, 2014, noon to 7 p.m. at Clark Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2014, 6 to 7 p.m. at Clark Chapel of Memories.
Graveside servides will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at New Salem Cemetery.
