Martha N. Daggett, age 84 of Oronogo, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Webb City Heath and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
Born August 3, 1929 in Joplin, she was the daughter of the late Max and Minnie Studvyn Haase and lived in the Joplin area her lifetime. Martha worked as a waitress for 19 year at Howard Johnson’s Restaurant and 17 years for Wilder’s Restaurant. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
On June 8, 1946 she married Charles W. Daggett. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1998. Two sons also preceded her in death, Ronnie Daggett in 2006 and Charles Daggett in 2011.
Survivors include four sons, Lonnie Daggett of Sarcoxie, MO, Jack Daggett and wife Mary of Webb City, Terry Daggett and wife Vickie of Webb City, Kevin Daggett and wife Cindy of Joplin; three daughters, Martha Chaddock of Oronogo, Tina Vickers and husband David of Joplin, Corey Daggett of Joplin; two brothers, Marvin Haase and wife Billie of Joplin, Delmar Haase of Pittsburg, KS; two sisters, Annabell Sill and husband Bob of Joplin, Darlene LaGaase and husband Louis of Joplin; thirty-one grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Parker Chapel with Bob Sill officiating. Interment will follow at Saginaw Cemetery with Chris Daggett, Travis Daggett, Nick Daggett, Nathan Daggett, Derrick Watson and Mike Millsap serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday at Parker Mortuary from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Mercy Hospital and the nurses from Avalon Hospice for their compassionate care.
