James Louis “Jim” Carlyle, age 61, of Carterville, Mo. passed away on Wednesday February 26, 2014, at his home, following an illness.
Jim was born on August 1, 1952 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Louis and Hilda (Reuter) Carlyle. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. He worked as a ticket agent for Grey Hound Bus Lines and at Able Body. He was a member of the Army 1st Airborne and a member of the Webb City Elks Lodge.
He married Cheryl Bush on October 8, 1977, in Joplin, Mo., and she survives. Additional survivors include one son, Brandon Carlyle, Carterville, Mo.; one brother, Marty Carlyle, St. Louis, Mo.; and four sisters, Joyce Dodd, Karon Damazyn, Sandy Lynch, and Pam Bagby, all of St. Louis, Mo. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Ricky Carlyle.
Friends may visit during regular funeral home hours. Arrangements are pending with Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home & Crematory.
