Wilda M. (Workman) Higginbotham, age 84 formerly of Joplin, Mo. went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 3, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell, Burlington, N.C. following an illness.
She was born February 1, 1930 in Rogersville, Mo. to James and Wilburn (Shipman) Wolfe. Wilda and her first husband devoted over forty years to the Baptist ministry, Wilda also worked for J.C. Penney’s and Mason-Woodard Mortuary, were she was very active in the Surviving Spouse Group. She attended Faith Baptist Church of Joplin.
Wilda married C.P. Workman on May 2, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1988. She then married W.D. Bill Higginbotham on September 28, 1991, in, And he preceded her in death on June 17, 2005. She is survived by 1 son, Stephen Workman and wife Pam, Gaborone, Botswana, 1 daughters, Pamela Jones and husband David, Burlington, N.C., one sister, Clara Norman and her husband Don of Springfield, Mo. five grandchildren, Amanda, Derick and Devin Workman, Mathew and Andrew Jones.
Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday March 8, 2014 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverand Stephen Workman officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday March 7, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
