Don L. Watson, Jr., 85, Neosho, died March 18, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital, following a one year illness.
Don was born July 17, 1928 in Rocky, OK and moved to Neosho in 1968 from Jefferson City, MO. He had served in the National Guard and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a County Supervisor for Newton and McDonald County, retiring after 30 years on Jan. 3, 1981. Following his retirement from the USDA, he was a self employed real estate appraiser from 1987 until June, 2000. Don was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ, where he had served as a deacon for over 50 years.
Don married his wife, Jean on Dec. 21, 1951 at Baytown, TX and she preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 1991. He is survived by two sons, Alan Watson, Neosho and Brian Watson, Harrisonville, MO; a nephew, Billy Don Meadows, Florida; four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
