Janet Scholl

Janet Kathryn Scholl, age 62 of Joplin, Mo. passed away Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following an illness.

 Janet, a loving military wife and mother, was born on March 17, 1951 in Lewistown, Mt., the daughter of George and Mary (Strong) Huff. She has been an area resident since 1995, Janet served as the Director of the American Red Cross in Newton County until 2005. Even after, she served as a volunteer to the Red Cross until her passing. Janet was also a member of T.O.P.S. #39 (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly). 

She married Lawrence Scholl on June 16, 1973 in Billings, Mt., he survives. Additional survivors include both of her parents, two sons; Timothy Scholl of Newark, Ar., William Scholl of Joplin, two daughters; April Scholl and Krista Scholl both of Joplin, two brothers; Robert and James Huff both of Billings, Mt., one sister; Margie Huff of Billings, and three grandchildren; Brianna, Trinity and Corbin.

 Janet is to be cremated with a memorial service scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation following the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Southwest Chapter of the American Red Cross in memory of Janet in care of the mortuary.

 Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
