Nolen Cope

Nolen E. Cope, 74, Neosho, died March 18, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, following a lengthy illness. 

Nolen was born Sept. 7, 1939 in Neosho, the son of Gordon and Jessie (Testerman) Cope. He was a lifelong area resident and had served in the U.S. Army, 1963-1968, and then worked at La Z Boy, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and cattle. 

Nolen and Leta (Chase) were married on Feb. 14, 1970 at Goodman and she survives. Also surviving are two children, Cheri Jordon and husband, John, Neosho and Brian Cope, Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Julian Cope, Caitlyn Jordon and Connor Jordon; two brothers, Jack Cope and wife, Andrea, Neosho and Gary Cope and wife, Patti, St. Joseph, MO and a sister, Norma Pasalevich and husband, Jack, Colorado Springs, CO. Nolen is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Galen Cope and sister, Dorothy Cope.
