James “Jim” Baker, 69 passed away March 12, 2014 at his home in Carthage. Jim was born June 25, 1944 in Carthage. He was a longtime Carthage resident. Jim served 25 years as a Police Officer on the Carthage Police department. He worked at Race Brothers farm and home. Jim was an avid bowler and was on a mixed league at Star Lanes in Carthage. Jim enjoyed restoring classic Ford’s, and liked to hunt and fish.
Jim is survived by Carolyn, his loving and caring wife of 30 years. His mother Mary D’Amato, One daughter Tara Baker West and husband Sean of Raytown, MO., Two sons Daniel Baker and wife Shelby of Temple, TX. and Stephen Baker of Carthage, MO. Six grandkids Brittany, Blake, Taylor, Emily, Alysia and Anthony. Six Great grandkids Aubrey, Adrian, Brently, Gloria, T.J. and Kinsley.
Jim is preceded in death by his dad Harold Baker in 1983.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 15, 2014 at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday March 14, 2014 at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fasken Cemetery, east of Carthage. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
