Roberta Studivan- Reeder age 85, Webb City, Mo., passed away Thursday March 13, 2014 following a short illness.
She was born June 10, 1928 in Anderson, Mo., to Frank and Ruby (Hopkins) Cowan.
Roberta was a lifetime Webb City, Mo. resident. She was employed with the Jasper County Sherriff’s Department as a corrections officer. She retired in 1994. She also worked for the Webb City Police Department. Roberta was very involved with city government and served on the Webb City Council for several years. She was civic minded and enjoyed being with people. Roberta was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in both Webb Chapter #204 and Electa Chapter #111. She was a past Worthy Matron and past Grand Representative.
She married Robert Studivan and he preceded her in death in 1987. She then married Orvis Reeder, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She is also preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother Donnie Cowan, 2 sisters Dorothy Kyser, Twyla Wardlow, and 1 great grandchild, Baby Grace.
Roberta is survived by 2 daughters; Gloria Sue Means and husband Glen, Webb City, Mo., Glennda Jean Niehoff and husband Ron, Ozark, Mo., 1 brother J.E. Cowan, Raymore, Mo., 4 grandchildren, Brian Means, Stephan Cowan, Craig Niehoff, Farra Kleyh, 11 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at the Cowan Cemetery in Powell, Mo.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home
