Robert Darren Simmons, age 55, of Webb City, MO., passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin.
Robert was born March 8, 1959 to Roger Simmons and JoAnn Stafford Simmons McCreedy in Joplin, MO. After graduating high school, he got married and moved to Shawnee, OK where he lived for almost 20 years. Robert then moved back to the Joplin area and has lived here ever since.
Robert worked for Autozone until retiring due to health.
Survivors include his mother, JoAnn McCreedy and husband, Doug of Duenweg, MO; daughter, Gina Simmons of Shawnee, OK; brothers, Terry Philliber and wife Beverly of Carl Junction, MO, Mike Dale and wife Lorri of Carterville, MO; sisters, Vickie DeGraff of Naperville, IL, Diane Reynolds and husband Steve of Duquesne, MO, Connie McGuire; one uncle, Ricky Simmons of Florida; one aunt Patty; 3 grandchildren; plus many nieces and nephews that will greatly miss him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roger Simmons as well as several aunts and uncles.
Services are planned for Friday, March 28, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO. Burial will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the mortuary.
Services are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
