James E. Watts, age 77, of Joplin, MO., passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his residence after a short illness.
James was born February 04, 1937 to the late Don and Ruth Ziegler Watts in Joplin, MO. where he has resided his entire life. After graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for four years. James retired in 1998 from Southwestern Bell after working 37 years of service for the company as a Customer Service Technician.
He married Zelma Michael Cartright on April 06, 1984 and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include, daughter, Jamie Watts of Olympia, WA; son, Michael Watts of Granby, MO; step-son Michael Cartright and wife Jennifer of Carthage, MO; brother, David Watts and wife Marta of Joplin; sister, Nancy Riddle of Georgetown, TX one grandson, Brett Watts and one granddaughter, Kennedy Watts;
No services are planned at this time. A private family graveside will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
