John Lasiter

John Lasiter, 76, of Carthage passed away at 11:28 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Freeman West in Joplin. John was born December 2, 1937 in Carthage. He has been a lifetime Carthage resident. John was the son of Henry Lasiter and Leola Shrock Lasiter. He was employed at Steadley Manufacturing for 30 plus years.

John was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hinsdale on September 28, 1963 in Carthage. She preceded him in death on January 21, 1996.

Survivors include three daughters, Rita Lasiter of Sarcoxie, MO, Robbie Parker of Carthage, MO and Margaretta “Ellie” Thornton of Kansas City, MO, three brothers; Martin Lasiter and Loren Lasiter both of Carthage and Richard Lasiter of Webb City, MO, four sisters; Henrietta Stark and Rita Mitchell both of Carthage, Nita Dalton of Carterville, MO and Melicent Palmer of Sarcoxie, MO, 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by two grandsons, one brother; Joseph Lasiter and six sisters; Betty Swafford, Delila Carpenter, Gloria Ann Stark, Mary McNamara, Lucille Magdaleno and Joan Lasiter.

Memorial Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Friends Cemetery in Purcell. On line condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
