Gwendolyn D. Foster age 89 of Jasper, MO. passed away March 24, 2014 at her home. She was born September 3, 1924 in La Junta, Colorado to Emmett and Cecile (Pugh) Wheeler. Gwen was a homemaker and dairy farmer. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church for fifty years and then joined the First Baptist Church of Jasper. She was a former Sunday School teacher and a 4-H project leader.
Gwen was united in marriage to Eugene Foster on November 20, 1942 at Carthage, MO.. He Survives. Other survivors include two sons, Larry Foster of Carthage, MO. and Bob Foster of Bentonville, Arkansas. Two daughters, Gwenda Greer of Maxwell, Iowa and Donna Waggoner of Webb City, MO.. One daughter-in-law, Karen Foster of Joplin, MO.. One half-brother, Stephen Wheeler of Colorado. One sister, Pat Norwood of Carthage, MO.. One half-sister, Gladys Recki of New Mexico. Twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Weng Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gideon's or Jasper First Baptist Church building fund. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Missouri.
