Donald Wayne ‘Don’ Goff, age 87, Joplin, passed away at 7:08 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Freeman Hospital.
Don was born November 18, 1926 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to the late Warren Goff and Goldie Wright Goff and had lived in Joplin since 1998.
He worked as a stationary fireman for C.P.C. International for 38 years. Following his retirement, he kept busy doing different things like hunting; fishing and small engine repair. He was a member of Duenweg Assembly of God and served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.
He married Rose Irene Sullivan on August 30, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Joyce I. Stark, Joplin; two sons, Ronald E. Goff, Spring Hill, Kansas, Philip W. Goff, Kansas City, Missouri; one half brother, Charles Bressie, Guam; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a grandson, Rusty A. Stark and two sisters, Isabelle Baker and Evelyn Archer.
Services are planned for Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Bill Hobson will officiate. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until service time at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
