Bobby G. Woody, age 76, Joplin, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Landmark Hospital.
Bobby was born February 14, 1938 in Joplin to the late William Woody and Euna Oklahoma Woody and had lived in Joplin most of his life.
He worked as a mechanic for Sears for over 22 years. He drove a race car for a time when he lived in California and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed the outdoors fishing and farming.
He is survived by five daughters, Tina McKnight, Topeka, Linda Woody, Joplin, Penny Shears, Joplin, Sherry O’Neill, Topeka, Becky Quattlebaum, Joplin; several siblings, Jack, Charles, David, Jody, Sandy, Sharon; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie J. Nichols and several brothers and sisters.
Memorial services are planned for Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends following the services at the chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
