Mrs. Ada Helen DeWitt, 102, of Pineville, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after a long illness.
Ada entered this life on January 2, 1914, to the union of George and Cora (Armstrong) Dotson. She was born and raised in Gibbon, Oklahoma, where she also attended school. She has been a resident of McDonald County for the last eighty-two years. In November of 1948, she was united in marriage to Clinton DeWitt and together they shared thirty years before his passing in 1978. Ada worked hard her entire life. She was a mother, farmer, seamstress, a grocery store owner and a US Postal clerk. She retired from the postal service in 1980. She enjoyed mowing her yard and spending time in her garden. She was a member of the Buffalo Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton DeWitt; her son, Max Reneau; one brother and five sisters.
Ada is survived by her three daughters, Shirley Meadows of Anderson, Faye Reneau of Pineville and Rhonda Cohn of Frontenac, Kansas; ten grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. DeWitt are 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Marilyn O’Brien officiating.
