Trio Oliverio

Trio S. Oliverio, 82, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at his daughter’s home after a short illness. Trio was born September 17, 1933 in Shamokin, PA; son of the late, Samuel (Saverio) Oliverio and Mary Quarequio Oliverio; both immigrants of San Nicola del Alto; Calabria, Italy. He married Josephine Vitale on November 29, 1952 in New Haven, CT; she survives. He is predeceased by one brother, two sisters and one great-grandson.

He is a furniture upholsterer by trade. With Josephine, owned and operated Columbia Mattress and Upholstery Co. in Hamden, CT. They owned the Venice Restaurant in New Haven; 1989-1994 and he worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft; North Haven, CT in the mid 1960’s.

He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus and the Italian American Club Civic Association in Connecticut.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Dina (Andy) Thomas, Carthage; three sons, Daniel (Susan) Oliverio, Carthage, David (Susan) Oliverio, Guilford, CT and Douglas Oliverio, Hamden, CT; a sister, Martha Marquette, North Haven, CT; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a plethora of nieces and nephews he loved.

A Funeral Mass will be recited, 10:00 am, Friday, September 23rd, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Carthage. Interment will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery; West Haven, CT.
