Eva DeGraffenreid

Eva May Degraffenreid, 82, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, September 12, 2016 at her home.

Eva entered this life on July 21, 1934, in Lamar, Missouri, to the union of the late George and Opal Sharp. She was a graduate of Jasper High School. She was united in marriage to Charles Merle Faust and he preceded her in death. In the late 1970s, she was united in marriage to Richard Degraffenreid and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2015. Eva worked for Elders Shirt Factory and for Atlas Powder (ICI). Eva also owned and operated Alright Kennels where she professionally bred dogs. Eva also enjoyed fishing, spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and raising her dogs.

She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two sons, Roy and Earl Faust; a grandson, Nicholas Langley; a brother, Gilbert Sharp; and two sisters, Dixie Burgeman and Mary Mevius.

Eva is survived by her daughter, Kathy Doty, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, and Kathy’s ex-husband, Jeff Doty, of Seneca, Missouri, and her son, Merle Faust of Carthage, Missouri.

Funeral services for Mrs. Degraffenreid are 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, with Pastor Don Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sarcoxie Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Dan Houston, David Doty, Mike Vicory, Keith Jarmin, Greg Pasley and Mike Burton.
