Mary Johnson

Mary E. Johnson, age 76, of Joplin, transitioned to be with the Lord on Tuesday September 6, 2016, at Spring River Christian Village, following an illness.

Mary was born on October 4, 1939 in Huntsville, Mo., the daughter of the late Ralph and Eartha Bell (Perkins) Robinson. She has been a resident of Joplin for the past forty-five years. She married James L. Johnson, Sr. in 1961 in Springfield, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1973. She worked as a CNA for numerous nursing home facilities. She was also a cook for the Joplin Salvation Army. She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ in Ft. Scott, Ks.

Mary is survived by four sons, James L. Johnson, Jr. and his fiancé Pamela Floyd, Joplin, Jeffery Johnson, Joplin, Mark Johnson and his wife Sara, Joplin, and Eric Johnson, Joplin; one daughter, Kim Reeves, Joplin; three brothers, Ralph Robinson, Huntsville, Mo., John Robinson, Des Moines, Ia., Orville Robinson, Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Laura Johnson, Springfield, Mo., and Mary P. Mitchell, Springfield, Mo.; eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Baker and Christopher Johnson; one daughter, Domecia Baker; and two sisters, Eartha and Mable Robinson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Troy Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Osborne Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Leon Powell, Steve Satler, Torrey Robinson, Kevin Robinson, Brian Keith, and Mark Robinson.

The family will receive friends 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Arrangement are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
