James Dexter Stephens, age 65 of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Freeman hospital.
James was born July 16, 1951 to the late Silas Victor Stephens and Ruth Bernice Dennis in Lindsay, California. He graduated from Strathmore High School in Strathmore, California. James worked in the maintenance department with Wal-Mart distribution.
Surviving James includes his wife, Rebecca Tucker Stephens of the home; daughters, Jona Rosson and husband, Keegan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Harley Stephens of the home; sons, Chad, Jason, Brian and Lance Stephens; step son, Duane Emerson; three grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Don Stephens; sisters, Maxine Hunt, Bernice Ellis, Linda Borders, Sharon Chronister, DoLores Staggs and Carolyn Briones.
Other than his parents, James is preceded in death by 5 other siblings.
Graveside services are planned for Wednesday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Osborne Cemetery, Joplin.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
