J. George Samuel, age 83 of Joplin, Missouri, went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at Freeman Hospital following an extended illness.
George was born February 19, 1933 in Joplin, Missouri to the late William B. Samuel and Mary Greenslade Samuel. He was a graduate of Joplin High School and then attended Pittsburg State University. George sold commercial restaurant equipment and also worked in refrigeration. He was a faithful member of Racine Apostolic Church, Racine, Missouri.
In December of 1994, George married Christine Armstrong and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include sons, David Samuel and wife, Marie of Joplin, Michael Samuel, Sr. and wife, Kelly of Joplin, Mark Samuel and wife, Kim of Kansas City, Missouri; step son, Jarrod Armstrong and wife, Toya of Baskin, Louisiana; grandchildren, Michael Samuel, Jr., Elisha Samuel, Blake Samuel, Holden Armstrong, Tucker Armstrong, Jacob Samuel and Joshua Samuel.
Other than his parents, George is preceded in death by all of his siblings and a step son, Jason Armstrong.
Funeral services are planned for Friday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Racine Apostolic Church, Racine, Missouri. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. also at the church. Pastor, Steve Epley will officiate.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
