Ruth Nadine Martin, 89 years, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Mrs. Martin was born on December 10, 1926 at Harkerville, Oklahoma to the late, Clinton Howard and Hazel Dell (Newburn) Booth. She was a longtime resident of the Anderson area.
Nadine married Earl Martin on July 17, 1943 in Pineville, Missouri. They lived on a farm west of Anderson. Nadine worked at the cafeteria at Fort Crowder during WWII in Neosho, Missouri, Chamberland Canning Factory, Blue Star Processing Plant and the Dari Kone in Anderson, Missouri. She was a Sunday School Teacher at Temperance Valley Church and was a member of Buffalo Creek Baptist Church. After retiring, she worked on their farm gathering eggs. Earl, Nadine and daughter, Gale were members of the McDonald County Territory Trail Riders. They rode in several parades and won several trophies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl William Martin, who passed away two weeks before their 50th wedding anniversary; infant son, Steven Earl Martin; brothers, Calvin Booth of Joplin, Missouri, Wilbur Booth of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Ralph Booth of Neosho, Missouri; Homer Booth of Anderson, Missouri; two sisters, Dorothy Booth of Anderson, Missouri and Rhoda Johnson of Bakersfield, California.
Nadine is survived by her four daughters, Linda Wilson and husband, Bill of Tiff City, Missouri, Judy Smith and husband, Leslie of Anderson, Missouri, Diane Wilson of Tiff City, Missouri and Gale Clark and husband, Jon of Moneta, Virginia; sister, Louise Beehler of Fairland, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Nadine.
Funeral services for Nadine will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Jared Proctor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Gene Smith, Wesley Wilson, Shane Wilson, Billy Wilson and great grandsons, Garrett Wilson and Brice Holloway. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark funeral homes. The family will receive friends at this time.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Anderson Cemetery Association in care of the funeral home in loving memory of Nadine.
