Rosa Lee Shryock, age 79, of Joplin, Mo passed away on September 13, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 13, 1937 in Galena, Ks the daughter of Clyde “Boog” and Mae Margaret “Scott” Walton. Rosa was Valedictorian of her High School class graduating a year early. She married Charles “Shottie” Shryock on May 30, 1954 in Galena, Ks. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2016. She was a dedicated housewife raising their three children. Rosa was very creative with her hands, enjoying gardening, cooking, fishing and antiquing.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, a son Craig Michael Shryock and a brother Ronnie Walton. She is survived by two sons; Mark Alan Shryock and wife Joan of Longview, MO, and David Bruce Shryock of Joplin, MO, a daughter in-law Jody England, a sister in-law Glena Walton, six grandchildren Kallie McDaniel, Cierra Shryock, Macie Shryock, Destin Shryock, Keegan Cearnal and Tara Shryock, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday September 16, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory with Pastor David Wood Officiating. Burial Will follow in the Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, Ks. The family will receive friend from 1:00 pm to service time Friday at the Mortuary. The family suggests contributions to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary. Arrangements entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
