Dr. Daniel “Doc” W. Haney, 69. 0f Joplin, MO passed away, Monday, September 26, 2016.
Dan was born October 11, 1946 in Oklahoma City to Alvin and Johnnie (Stodghill) Haney. He graduated from Enid High School in 1964, from Phillips University in 1967 and from St. Louis University College of Dentistry in 1970. He as commissioned as an officer in The United States Navy. He settled in Joplin and started his Dental Practice in June of 1973. He practiced Dentistry until May 2011. Dan served for many years on The Missouri Dental Associations (MDA) Board with positions to include: Trustee, Speaker of the House of DC Legates, Vice President and President. He also served for SWDS. Dan was honored with the great distinction that only 2% of Dentist worldwide have ever been awarded – he was inducted into the Fellowship of The International College of Dentist. He loved his work and the relationships that forged through the years. He came to love and became an avid owner and rider and became a member of H.O.G. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Dan is survived by his wife Elaine Haney, Dan’s two son’s, Todd Haney and his wife Cheryl of St. Louis, MO, David Haney and his wife Anitra of Jefferson City, MO, and one loving daughter Brandie Simms and her husband Richard of Melbourne, FL, Elaine’s children and grandchildren, first wife and mother of this children Tommye Reynolds and their four grandchildren, Preston, Savannah, Asher, and Alley. Dan is survived by his second wife Judy Haney’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10am followed by 11:00am service at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, 3701 E. 7th St. Joplin, MO 64801. Pastor Stephen Nation will be officiating.
