John Wesley Green was dispatched to Heaven on September 23, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Carthage, MO. He worked for Barry-Lawrence County Ambulance District as an E.M.T. for 18 years, before that he worked in Oakland, CA for the Oakland Tribune Newspaper for 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Darlene; his son, Kenneth; and by his brother, Leon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edith; a sister, Gloria; a brother, Franklin; a daughter, Elizabeth; and a son, Matthew.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Teed officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
