Ralph L. Luce, 77, Carthage, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at his home after a sudden illness. Ralph LeRoy Luce was born March 19, 1939 in Clyde Township, Wisconsin; a son of the late Frank A. Luce and Helen M. Johnson Luce. He was a graduate of Mineral Point High School, Class of 1956. Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran and later served in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command. He initially worked as a mechanic in the military and later worked in the transportation, aerospace, and mining industries, eventually settling in Carthage. He married Ann Louise Josick on December 17, 1966 in Phoenix, AZ; she survives. Ralph was active in the DAV, VFW, and American Legion; he was a commander for American Legion Posts in Arizona and Texas.
Additional survivors include three daughters; Holly Luce, Carthage, Avi Luce, Syracuse, NY and Heather C. (Cody) Hood, Carthage; two sons, Brian A. (Dondi) Luce, Tucson, AZ and Nathan D. (Julie) Luce, Jasper, MO; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Carthage. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
