Marvin Kenneth Gorham, age 81, Joplin, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his home.
Marvin was born May 13, 1935 in Neosho to the late Clyde Gorham and Zoe Hague Gorham and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
He worked for Frito-Lay, Inc. for thirty years, retiring as a sales representative. He had also worked for the former Bunny Bread for several years. Following his retirement, he worked as a driver for the Joplin Head Start program for several years.
Marvin was a member of the Lutheran and Episcopal faiths.
He married Gay Shadwick on July 16, 1955. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Marcia Bryant and her husband, Joe, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; siblings, Charles Gorham, Joplin, Madonna Stout, Joplin, Jerry Gorham, Seneca, Gerald Gorham, State of Alabama; two granddaughters, Amie Ellison and her husband, Terry, Emily Bailey and her husband, Chris; and great grandchildren, Justin Morgan, Madison Bailey, Ethan Bailey, Kevin Winters and Raeanna Winters.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Crews.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Neosho. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice or to Samaritans Purse, both in care of Parker Mortuary.
