Kevin Moss

Kevin Wayne Moss, age 49, Diamond, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 after a sudden illness.

Kevin was born July 22, 1967 in Carthage, Missouri to Wayne and Pauline Moore Moss and had lived in the Diamond area all of his life.

A graduate of Diamond High School, Kevin spent his life in the bucking chutes at the rodeo arena. He worked his way up through the ranks of AYRA and MHSRA to earn the title of 1984 National High School Rodeo Bullriding Champion. He continued to compete and win many more championships in the following associations: ACRA, IPRA, MRCA, MSRA and the PBR!

Following his rodeo days, Kevin took to fishing and competed in several fishing tournaments. He was a faithful member of Risen Ranch Cowboy Church, instructed youth at Rodeo Bible Camp and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan!

Kevin married Mary Munch on September 30, 1989 in Diamond, Missouri. She survives at the home.

Additional survivors include his parents, Wayne and Pauline Moss, Diamond; his children, Bellamy Moss, Diamond, Amber Lang and her husband, Tim, Carthage; grandchildren, Micah, Tucker, Zerik, Christian; a sister, Lana Black, Diamond; one brother, Mike Moss, Diamond; many nieces and nephews and many longtime cowboy friends.

Services are planned for Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Diamond 1st Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Stafford and Rev. Ron Crow will officiate. Interment will follow at Diamond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be D.J. Johnson, Jim Parmley, Gary West, Stanley West, Greg Larkin and Chuck Luney. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6:00 p.m. at Diamond 1st Baptist Church

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
