Charles Breckenridge Langston, age 88, passed away at 10:00 A.M. Saturday,September 10, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation in Lockwood, MO. He had been in failing health for some time but his death was a result of complications following a fall in his home on July 27.
Mr. Langston was born on January 3, 1928 to Paul and Icel (Cochran) Langston in the Cherry Grove community in Lawrence County northeast of La Russell, MO. He was a 1945 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.
On April 19, 1945 he was married to Kathryn Easson. On that day they moved to the family farm where they have lived their entire married life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Susan Jean Vonier; his brother, Frank Langston; and his sister, Mozelle Williams.
He is survived by his wife of the home; his children Charles, Jr. (Linda) of Lockwood, David (Patty) on the family farm, Lillian Andrade (Jorge) of St. Louis; nine grandchildren Kris Vonier, Lisa Vonier McGuire,Christian Andrade, Lorenzo Andrade, KaseyLangston, Paul Langston, Daniel Langston,Paula Langston Wall, Darrin Langston; fourteen great grandchildren; and several niecesand nephews.
Interment services will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016, 2:00 P.M. at the Langston Cemetery. Dennis Cochran, Chaplain USAF Ret., will officiate under the direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Compassus, Springfield, MO or the Mt. Vernon Veterans Home Activity Fund, Mt. Vernon, MO.
