(From Parker Mortuary)
Mary Louise Hundley, age 92 of Joplin, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation.
Mary was born December 12, 1923 in Marshalltown, Iowa to the late William E. Hayes and Elizabeth M. Reinhardt Hayes. Mary was the office manager at Lyon Finance in Marshalltown right up until the day she married John (Jack) F. Hundley on March 5, 1955, who preceded her in death on August 30, 2009. On that date, she began her life of devotion, love and unwavering rock of support to her Savior, husband and children. Their life journey took them to North Plate, Nebraska from 1955 to 1958, moving to Denver, Colorado from 1958 to 1968, and on to other destinations together before arriving into Joplin from 1968 to present.
As their children got settled in school, Mary started a part-time career with Cardinal Scale Manufacturing in 1969, eventually going full-time. She retired in December of 1985 as Credit Manager. In her retirement years, she enjoyed her Catholic faith at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, traveling with her husband to visit cherished family and friends, and most importantly, doting over her four grandchildren, Michael, William, Evan and Kathryn. Even when her memory was fading, she always would ask about each grandchild by name and how they were doing and where they were living.
What an amazing women you have been Mary L. Hundley. You will be missed dearly by all, but you will definitely never be forgotten.
