William L. 'Bill' McCoy, age 85, Joplin, passed away at 10:51 a.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016.
Bill was born April 18, 1931 in Joplin to the late Francis McCoy and Ida Connor McCoy and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
He owned and operated McCoy Mobile Home Services for over 50 years. Bill spent his time fishing and enjoying everything the outdoors had to offer. He was a charter member of Crown of Life Chapel and a faithful member of Community Chapel, Joplin.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded by wives, Pat West, Bonita Taylor and Phyllis Eby. He was also preceded by a son, Wendell McCoy; a brother, Clifford McCoy and two sisters, Doris Maynard and Carol Steppe.
Survivors include children, Jim McCoy and wife, Minta, Rising Star, Texas, Roger McCoy and wife, Karen, Riverside, California, Don McCoy and wife, Debbie, Orange, California, Teresa Eby and husband, Chris, Joplin, Shawna Morris and husband, John, Carthage, Joy McCoy, Commerce, Oklahoma; step children, Johnna Duncan and husband, Lee, Webb City, Bobbie Hamilton and husband, Patrick, Columbus, Kansas, John Eby and wife, Summer, Joplin; eighteen grandchildren, seven great grandsons and one great-great granddaughter.
Services are planned for Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Community Chapel. Rev. Paul Dilts and Rev. Jeff Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Hornet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cory Morris, James Richards, Malachi Leece, Derek Mosier, John Bean and Eric Esposito. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Chapel for their missions program, in care of Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
